A Blog Named Hero | June Challenge 'Sympathy'

https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1Doe6yKpnwErmem8NjxO-aOFRsA1ohajN

Hi Everyone and Welcome! Today starts the June challenge over at A Blog Named Hero. This months theme is sympathy cards. Never fun to send, but important none the less. Most of the sympathy cards I make are black and white and this is no exception. I did want a pop of color to bring a little happy to an unhappy situation, so I added this sweet little butterfly.

My background was made by layering a white background die cut on top of a piece of glittered cardstock. I created my own glitter card stock by running the entire panel through my Xyron sticker maker, and then covering the now sticky side with microfine glitter.

The sentiment, from the Hero Arts Prayers stamp set was cut 4x from black cardstock, glued together and adhered onto a strip of vellum to separate it from the background. And the smaller sentiment was simply stamped onto white cardstock and trimmed into a strip, which I popped up with dimensional adhesive.

Thanks for stopping by today and don't forget to head over to A Blog Named Hero to see the rest of the DT projects as well as all of the challenge details. If you're new here, I'd love you to join my crafty little journey. You can find all my social media and follow links in my signature below and in the sidebar!

A Masculine Card Trio with Elizabeth Craft

Hi Everyone, Happy Thursday, Kristina here today with some masculine cards using a background die from Elizabeth Craft.

I've wanted to do a paper piecing type technique with this die every since I got it, but was intimidated by the need to keep track of all the pieces. But I found a simple method to easily produce the effect, and get multiple cards in the process. I went with three different colors for my background, which produces three different cards. In hindsight I would've rather done 4 or more so there was less options for colors to be next to each other.

Onto the process:

I ran the die and paper through my die cut machine. I kept it sandwiched between my cutting plates and flipped the whole sandwich over so that the cut side was up. With all of the piece still in the die, I stuck down a piece of Avery removable label paper (masking paper) to cover the back.

I used my tool n one to carefully remove the die, leaving the positive and negative space die cuts adhered to my label paper.

Once I was done, I had a panel for each of my colors, with all of the pieces where they go.

To begin assembly, I first ran the circle frame through my Xyron machine and stuck it down to an a2 sized card base. From there, I simply transferred the circle from the label paper over into their "frame"

From there I embellished the card with a sentiment, some nuvo drops and ranger liquid pearls.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Hero Arts New Day Butterflies

97FBAFEF-96C1-4BB4-B93A-BBE43D150123
Hi Friends! Kristina here for my solo post of the month! I've created another card to go with out current Celebrate theme - You have a few more days to get your projects linked up! Here's what I've come up with, it i's Hero Art's birthday after all...

ButterflyFlash

I fell in love with this butterfly set the moment I saw it. These images are drawl beautifully. While I have lots of colorful plans for them, I wanted to keep the coloring simple. I used Zig Clean Color Real Brush pens for all of my watercoloring. I started by coloring my main butterfly, and once dried, I went around the white space fading it in from the edges of the card and the main butterfly.

I glued this panel down to some fun foam for sturdy dimension, and then only an a2 sized card base. To finish I went over all of the black and white butterflies with a shimmer pen. Lastly, heat embossed my sentiment onto pink card stock with white embossing powder and adhered it onto the card with foam tape.
