Dollar Store Pencil Valentines with Cricut | Free Project File

Here are some sweet and inexepensive valentines I made for my nieces and nephews using some dollar store pencils and my Cricut.

First I needed something to hold the pencils so I created a simple shape in Design Space and added some score lines to make a little wrap/box to go around the pencil. This holds the pencils in place with the help of some adhesive, and also lays the foundation to attach my images.

I just layed a few strips of scor tape down where the pencils will sit, to stop them from sliding around, and another strip to glue my little wrap together once the pencils are in.

Then I added some simple hearts to the front and the back to hide the wrap, and create a base for my die cuts.

The images I used are all from the Create a Critter 2 cartridge. I used the color sync function to get the project down to a few different colors and reduce the amount of cutting I had to do. I did one of the layers in glitter paper so each critter would have some bling, and did Mr. Frogs crown in foil paper because shiny is always better!

I used the Happy Valentines Day sentiment from the same cartridge to put on the back, these could be squised together a little more leaving room for a child to sign, or left off entirely and instead add To: and From: to the back.

I've added this project to the cricut community so you can easily replicate. Cricut users can access it here
